Welcome back to all of our returning members, and, to all of our new members, welcome to the club!🎉

Thanks to everyone who visited us yesterday at the UTSU or Eng Soc Club Fairs! It was such a busy day, but we’re glad to see so many students excited about origami! We realize many of our newest members don’t know a lot about origami (or about the club), so for our first workshop, we’ll be revamping Origami 101!

Our first workshop will take place, tomorrow, 📆Sept 8, from ⌚4 – 6 PM, at 📌SS1086 & SS1088 (Sidney Smith building, see here —> https://maps.app.goo.gl/WhZG83CPSjDiuGy16). No registration or fee is required, we will provide paper!

Unlike our regular workshops, Origami 101 will include a brief presentation, at the beginning, which includes: a small overview of the club, basic types of folds, and a quick explanation of common origami diagram symbols. Slides for the presentation will be posted shortly before the workshop! So feel free to still come and leave whenever!

Our workshops are usually drop-in style. This presentation is meant to be a bit of a helping aid and to introduce new folders to reading diagrams, so if you miss this workshop, it’s no big deal, just show up to the next workshop that fits your schedule.

Here’s a quick rundown of the models that we’re featuring:

• Difficulty: Beginner-friendly ✅

🐶Dog

• Difficulty: easy ✅

🐉Crane dragon

• Difficulty: easy ✅

🐷🐕‍🦺🐄 Pig/Dog/Cow

• Difficulty: low-intermediate 🟨
• Note: the final model will change based on variations in folding the face! It’s really cool!
