A poll has been created to elect the Director of Logistics and select the movie we’re gonna watch for an upcoming movie night.

The poll uses rank, so the idea is to rank your choices from highest to lowest. Why not just a single vote? Well, there are a lot of choices for the movie, and if we did a simple one-vote-per person thing, the movie that ends up winning might only have a very small percentage of total votes, because the large amount of choice makes every movie have a very small percentage of total votes (and we’ll end up with a “minority government” in the extreme).

For those interested in statistics and the such, this ranking method of voting is known as the Condorcet method.

A link has been generated for every email in the listserv, and an email containing that link sent to every email. It allows you to vote once. If you didn’t get it, check your junk mail folder. If you still didn’t, email us and we’ll add your email again.

The poll ends next Friday, Nov 4th, so you won’t have to worry about this over fall break.
