About Us
Fly with Origami, Learn to Dream (F.O.L.D.) was founded in the summer of 2007. The club would like to introduce and promote the entertainment values as well as the educational values of origami, thereby generating public interest in the creation of traditional paper artwork. Through various projects, F.O.L.D. hopes to enrich the lives of children, students, seniors and their families by providing ample learning opportunities on the making of origami, with emphasis on hands-on exploration and creative thinking. During the school year, F.O.L.D. is dedicated to serving the U of T population and the community at large by providing themed workshops on a monthly basis, where participants can enjoy sharing and learning the paper-folding techniques of various difficulties. The club is also actively engaged in UTSU events such as Clubs Orientation Day and Unity Through Diversity. Over the past two years, F.O.L.D. has established partnerships with a number of hospital in the downtown core, including Toronto Western Hospital and Hospital for Sick Children. Our annual community projects include folding bouquets of Valentine roses for in-patients, offering monthly workshop for hospital volunteers, as well as making senbazuru for noteworthy causes relating to peace and well-being.
