Hello everyone!! In this monthly issue, we will cover a few of our upcoming
volunteering opportunities and workshops in the month of June. Please note a
few changes especially with the volunteering opportunities as you may need to
email us back to verify your commitment if you had already requested to
volunteer in one of our volunteering opportunities prior to this date.
1) The first origami workshop of the summer 2013 season is going to be held on
Saturday June 1st from 1p.m – 3p.m with a theme focus on basic origami folds.
If you have any particular origami design request, please send an email to
ut.fold@gmail.com with the subject line titled “June 1st Workshop Design
Request”. The location of the workshop is TBA.
2) Our first “Relay for Life” event affiliated with the Canadian Cancer Society
will take place at Centennial Park on Friday June 7th from 7p.m – 7a.m
(OVERNIGHT TRIP that extends to the following Saturday morning). We will be
teaching origami at our booth during the earlier part of the night and then set
up a tent and camp the rest of the night to connect with our fellow F.O.L.D.
members. If you are interested in volunteering, please email us with the subject
line titled “JUNE 7TH RELAY FOR LIFE VOLUNTEER REQUEST”, the content as
your name and your contact information to ut.fold@gmail.com. Our president
Qingda Hu has stated that he can DRIVE people from Downtown or from Kipling
station if transportation is an issue. Deadline to apply is June 3rd.
3) Our second and third “Relay for Life” event will take place at Morningside
Park and Sunnybrook Park SIMULTANEOUSLY on Friday June 14 at 7p.m. Please
note that this will NOT BE AN OVERNIGHT event. We will ONLY be teaching
origami at our booth during the earlier part of the night. If you are interested in
volunteering, please email us with the subject line titled “JUNE 14TH RELAY FOR
LIFE VOLUNTEER REQUEST”, the content as your name and your contact
information to ut.fold@gmail.com. Please re-email us if you had previously
requested to volunteer for this particular opportunity, as we would like to
confirm your commitment after the above changes. Deadline to apply is June
10th.
4) There will be Sickkids monthly workshop in the month of June. The date is
still TBA, and more information will be coming soon.
That’s it for this issue! If you have further questions regarding each of our
